Steve Sturm
Steven Sturm is the Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer of Advanstar Communications, where he oversees the marketing of MAGIC, Licensing International, Dealer Expo, Veterinary Conferences and International Motorcycle Tour events. Since joining Advanstar in 2010, Mr. Sturm’s principal focus as CMO continues to be identifying new opportunities, expanding Advanstar’s brand presence, and improving value for its customers.
Prior to his appointment at Advanstar, Mr. Sturm served as Group Vice President of Americas Corporate Communications, Strategic Planning & Research for Toyota Motor North America, Inc., where he was responsible for all aspects of corporate strategy and planning, strategic research, corporate advertising, marketing communications, media outreach and investor relations. As Vice President of the Toyota division, he administered a $1.1 billion budget and directed numerous advertising and media agencies in brand extension, marketing, and the development of award-winning advertising campaigns. In addition, as the Corporate Marketing Manager of the Lexus division, he led the expansion and positioning of the brand through multi-channel efforts, including event marketing at the Lexus Challenge Golf Tournament and the Eric Clapton concert series, interactive marketing with the redesign of Lexus.com website, and innovative product placement in television and film.
